Toby Carlsson

Toby founded Pace Rehabilitation, by setting up the Manchester clinic in 2003. After the merge with Dorset Orthopaedic, Toby now mainly works in the medico legal sector providing expert witness reports as well as seeing patients as a prosthetist.

He has practised prosthetics in the UK since 1989 both within the NHS and in private practice. Toby has always had an interest in how the body functions as well as the engineering and technical side of prosthetics so combining the two meant that prosthetic rehabilitation has always been the perfect fit.

He has extensive experience of providing expert witness services, receiving frequent instructions from claimants and defendants as well as joint instructions. “These are intellectually challenging and gives me an opportunity to really think about what the long-term requirements for a patient will be,” said Toby. Outside of work, Toby enjoys keeping active outdoors gardening, hiking, running and riding his mountain bike.
