Ian joined our Manchester clinic in 2017 after many varied and successful years working in the NHS.

He studied prosthetics and orthotics at the University of Salford and graduated in 2006. After graduation, many clinicians choose a discipline to specialise, but Ian is unique in this endeavour in that he chose to practice both prosthetics and orthotics.

After graduating, Ian began his first role with Peacocks Medical Group where he spent 3 years working as an orthotist. He then went onto the work at the NHS Limb Fitting Centre in Middlesbrough and quickly became the Deputy Manager whilst heling amputees to regain or rediscover their freedom of movement.

From here, Ian joined the NHS Aintree Limb Fitting Centre as a senior prosthetist. After accumulating a wide spectrum of knowledge during these roles, Ian joined to interesting world of private patient care in 2017 at our clinic in Bredbury, Manchester.

Ian mainly treats patients with lower limb difference and with orthotics as solutions to trauma as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team package. He has a keen interest in supporting for people pre-amputation as this provides them with access to specialist treatment from the beginning and likes to be involved in the patients whole journey from pre amputation all the way through treatment and rehab with the aim of returning to the life they would like to lead.

“I genuinely believe I have one of the best jobs in the world. It’s empowering to be in a position where you can enable people to achieve what they achieve”, said Ian.

When he is not being a prosthetist or an orthotist, Ian loves to be outside and is a sporty person. He regularly competes in triathlons and enjoys keeping fit.
