Lauren joined Dorset Orthopaedic in March 2021 and pioneers the physio service at the London Clinic in Egham. Lauren spent 10 years working in NHS at Frimley Park Hospital running the amputee physio service and has thoroughly valued the opportunity to help patients regain their mobility.

After graduating in 2010, Lauren started her career in Broomfield Hospital doing her junior rotations and that was where she began to gain experience working with amputees. Lauren ended up running the prosthetic group at Broomfield Hospital before moving to Frimley Park Hospital in 2010 to take up a dual role in amputee and critical care. Two years later in 2012, Lauren earned her clinical specialism in amputee rehab and vascular surgery and has been working in the field ever since.

Lauren’s most memorable moment treating a patient came when a patient endured a quadruple amputation and awoke with a can do attitude and a desire to succeed. Lauren remembers being inspired by ‘the amazing attitude’ of the patient.

Lauren has recently completed her Master’s Degree in amputee rehab and is looking forward to helping patients through each step of their rehab journey with Dorset Orthopaedic. As part of her Masters, Lauren did a lot of work on phantom limb pain and has goals of setting up a specific service for patients.
