David joined our Glasgow clinic as a prosthetist in August 2020.

When deciding what course to study after finishing school, David went to the University of Strathclyde to check out their Prosthetics and Orthotics centre. Whilst there, he was awestruck by the range of technology and gadgets available and the difference that could be made to patients’ lives with it. He had to begin the course!

After graduating in 1997, David went on to work as a Prosthetist at several NHS services in the UK including Wolverhampton, Preston, Leeds and Glasgow. He worked as the Lead Prosthetist in the Glasgow service based at the West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre (WestMARC), which provides the prosthetics service for 52% of Scotland’s population. He has a vast amount of experience with patients of all levels of limb loss and ability and relishes helping people achieve their goals, no matter how big or small.

Outside of work, David is a keen cyclist, whether that be competing in a velodrome or on the road. He also enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his son’s rugby team who recently played at Scotland’s national stadium!
