With fourteen years’ experience within the industry, James joined the Midlands Clinic in Burton upon Trent as a Prosthetist in 2014, specialising in the provision of prosthetic arms and legs to patients. With his impressive experience, James also acts as an Expert Witness in cases involving limb loss.

Graduating from the University of Salford in 2007, James’ first role was at Selly Oak Limb Centre where he was responsible for upper limb prosthetics, specialising in all amputation levels as well as paediatrics. During this time, James was able to get involved in the Intraosseous Transcutaneous Amputation Prosthesis (ITAP) osseointegration trials which he found extremely interesting.

James considers the best part of his role to be helping his patients achieve their goals and go on to live their lives however they wish. This is especially true when it comes to providing prosthetic solutions to children. Fitting a child with their first prosthesis and then seeing them smile as they learn to use it, provides James with all the motivation he needs to continue his hard work.

Outside of the workplace, James enjoys keeping active by coaching rugby to his local Mini Juniors team, walking his dogs and cycling.
