A Custom-Made Orthotic Solution for Lower Limb Injuries and Conditions

The ReAktiv Brace is a tried and tested orthotic solution, trusted by patients across our nationwide clinics. Our multidisciplinary team of experts have vast experience at working with individuals who use the ReAktiv Brace. Some of our team, who previously worked for the Ministry of Defence, were instrumental in introducing this design of orthosis to the UK marketplace over a decade ago.

Designed to support serious lower limb injuries and conditions, the ReAktiv Brace plays a major role in improving mobility and overall quality of life.

Many of our patients have experienced significant pain relief following complex fractures, osteoarthritis or multiple foot and ankle surgeries. The orthotic solution has also shown particular promise for those considering ankle joint fusion or elective amputation, offering an alternative that can restore function and reduce discomfort.

Globally, the ReAktiv Brace has proven effective for individuals with drop foot, peripheral nerve injuries, clubfoot, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.

Higher Level of Activity

The orthotic solution is specifically engineered to support a more active lifestyle. Each brace is custom-built using lightweight composite materials such as carbon fibre and Kevlar—chosen for their strength, durability, and responsiveness. These advanced materials help absorb impact, reduce pain in the foot and ankle, and return energy through the walking cycle to promote a smoother, more efficient step.

Designed for both everyday use and higher-impact activities, the ReAktiv Brace provides the support and confidence needed to take on more—whether that’s walking further, being on your feet longer, or even returning to running. Many users of the ReAktiv go on to enjoy active, fulfilling lifestyles thanks to the brace’s unique combination of stability and energy return.

Custom Manufacture

Each ReAktiv Brace is individually made at our Manchester clinic workshop to ensure a personalised fit and function tailored to each patient’s needs.

The knee support is moulded to fit securely beneath the knee, this area is designed to take some of the load off the foot and ankle area which often helps to reduce foot and ankle pain.

The foot section maximally stabilises the foot and ankle to reduce movements that elicit pain. The rigid design strives to redirect the forces acting upon the foot and ankle to the framework of the brace and up around the knee cuff.

At the heart of the ReAktiv Brace is the PDE™ modular spring system, offering nine different spring stiffness levels. This allows our clinical team to fine-tune the level of support and energy return based on your individual needs as your rehab progresses.

Rehabilitation: The Key to Unlocking ReAktiv’s Full Potential

It’s really important ReAktiv Brace users are given rehab!

This orthotic device has the potential to boost your activity levels markedly- but to get the best results, it's important to learn how to use it properly. That's where physiotherapy rehabilitation is an important part of its provision. This ensures that you learn how to use the orthotic device correctly and get the most functional improvement possible without risking secondary injuries due to altered movement patterns and previously learned bad habits.

Provision of the brace will therefore include a minimum recommended period of physiotherapy to use it for walking. Further rehabilitation requirements will depend on whether you both wish, and have the capability, to use the brace to progress to higher impact sports, such as running. Further adjustments to brace alignment, and indeed the need for a second brace with different alignment for sport, may need to be discussed at this point.
