Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

MS is a neurological condition that affects the central nervous system and commonly affects people in different ways. MS occurs when the immune system attached to the protective layer around the nerve fibres and causes inflammation. This affects the brain and spinal cord and once MS is diagnosed, it becomes a lifelong condition.

According to the MS Society, over 150,000 people in the UK have MS and many people contract MS in their thirties and forties. Many people however experience the first symptoms of MS years earlier.
