Complimentary Rehabilitation Assessment (CRA)

The first step to a clearer rehabilitation pathway.

A Complimentary Rehabilitation Assessment (CRA) is a free of charge, 90-minute, multidisciplinary assessment designed to identify rehabilitation needs early and create a clear, tailored treatment plan. A CRA supports time-critical reporting requirements, providing transparent costings while identifying all aspects of short-term rehabilitation and anticipated outcomes. It gives case managers, solicitors, and clients the clarity needed to make informed decisions, quickly and confidently.

At Dorset Orthopaedic, we believe that effective, interdisciplinary rehabilitation should begin as early as possible. Delays in treatment can make recovery more challenging, which is why early assessment plays such a vital role in achieving better outcomes. We take the time to truly understand each individual, listening carefully to their needs, challenges, and goals, to identify the most clinically appropriate pathway. Our focus is to support every client in returning, as closely and as comfortably as possible, to their pre-injury level of activity or employment.

Why a CRA?

Starting rehabilitation without a clear understanding of a person’s needs can lead to delays, inefficiencies, and missed opportunities for better outcomes.

A CRA ensures the right approach from the very beginning.

With a CRA, you can expect:

- Early identification of rehabilitation needs
- A personalised, structured treatment plan
- Clear recommendations from a multidisciplinary team
- Transparent costings to support decision-making
- A detailed report delivered within 72 hours

How does it work?

1. Assessment (90 minutes)
A comprehensive, face-to-face assessment with our clinical team (Prosthetist/Orthotist and Physiotherapist) to understand the individual’s injuries, challenges, and goals.

2. Clinical review
Our multidisciplinary team reviews the assessment findings to determine the most appropriate rehabilitation pathway.

3. Report (within 72 hours)
A clear, detailed report outlining:
