Nicole Bennett, originally from Glasgow, joined Dorset Orthopaedic’s Amersham clinic in June 2021. With over 18 years in the industry, Nicole has extensive experience in her field.

Graduating as an Orthotist from Strathclyde University in 2005; Nicole initially started her career working as an NHS Orthotist at the QMC in Nottingham. Nicole went on to practise Orthotics in New Zealand before a move to London in 2009. From here, she has worked in a variety of roles including leading the Orthotic provision for the Westminster paediatric child development service based out of St Marys in Paddington and the East London neuro rehabilitation unit at Homerton Hospital as well as being the Lead Orthotist at DMRCs Headley court running the MoD’s only orthotic service. This role, over a seven-year period enabled Nicole to gain vital orthotic skills in the management of complex trauma patients. Before joining Dorset Orthopaedic, Nicole worked as the Research & Development orthotist at Blatchford, contributing to developing new orthotic products and being responsible for new product patient trials. She also attained a MSc by Research in 2020 from Salford University.

Being passionate about her role, Nicole loves the diversity of patients and product solutions that comes with being an Orthotist. Although she has broad knowledge in the role, Nicole particularly enjoys working with lower limb complex trauma patients and those who want to return to higher end activity. She loves the challenge that these patients present to the interdisciplinary team of which she is part of.

Nicole loves to travel and has taken herself around India, South- East Asia and Australia. Having two young children, she is extremely family orientated and enjoys socialising with friends.
