Inpatient Rehabilitation
At Dorset Orthopaedic we offer dedicated inpatient rehabilitation through our links with the The Cleveland Clinic London and ReLimb.
The Cleveland Clinic, based in central London, offers a ‘one stop shop’ for clients who have suffered catastrophic injury where clients, their families and their legal teams can meet with all members of the multidisciplinary team in one location to address their needs together.
Our therapy teams based closest to London support the inpatient staff at the Cleveland Clinic with regular visits and provide that vital link between inpatient care and home. Once discharged from the hospital, your care continues in your most local Dorset Orthopaedic centre with direct and rapid access back to your inpatient team should it be required.
ReLimb, based at the Royal Free Hospital in North London, was founded by Mr Norbert Kang and Mr Alex Woollard. Both highly skilled Plastic Surgeons, Mr Kang and Mr Woollard provide a complete reconstructive service for clients who have suffered major physical trauma. ReLimb is the first service within the UK to offer civilian osseointegration and targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR).
Our therapy teams work very closely with ReLimb to provide bespoke rehabilitation packages following surgery. We will liaise with the inpatient staff at the hospital during the inpatient stay and on discharge, provide immediate and ongoing support throughout the recovery period. Our close communication with the ReLimb team and the unparallelled knowledge and expertise of our therapy team ensures that all your rehabilitation needs are met in a timely manner.
