Job Description

We are pleased to offer an exciting role as part of our multi-disciplinary service in our Manchester Clinic. The candidate would be working alongside Prosthetists and Physiotherapists to ensure a holistic provision of rehabilitation. You will specifically be looking at complex trauma, amputation cases, neuro and paediatrics with long term rehabilitation requirements. This will include complex clinical multi-disciplinary team assessments and writing of a clinically reasoned recommendation reports for funding approval.

You will be working as part of a wide internal and external multi-disciplinary team (e.g. Prosthetists, Physiotherapists, technicians, case managers, solicitors, and other allied health professionals) and take an independent and/or lead role in providing appropriate orthotic treatment to a wide range of DO clients.

Candidates should be 5-years post-graduation, with experience in trauma, Neuro rehabilitation and paediatrics.

An essential requirement is the ability to lead and grow the orthotics service in Manchester and Glasgow.

A dynamic and proactive approach to self-development, with a keen desire to learn and expand your skills in the orthotics field, as well as that of the orthotics service within Dorset, is essential.

Training on the various orthoses, specific rehabilitation skills and report writing will be provided.

Essential Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Current HCPC Registration

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide orthoses as required
  • Liaise with management team, case managers and solicitors
  • Record and update medical records
  • Work alone and alongside a multi-disciplinary team
  • Record outcome measures and contribute to auditing, research and development
  • Have a full UK driving licence
