Katherine Neilson

We’re excited to welcome Katherine Neilson to our Manchester clinic as a physiotherapist, bringing a passion for functional rehabilitation and a wealth of international experience to the team.

Originally from New Zealand, Katherine graduated from the University of Otago in 2018, inspired by her own experiences as a netball player constantly in and out of physio clinics during high school. This early exposure sparked a fascination with how the human body moves and recovers—leading her to pursue a four-year physiotherapy degree.

After graduating, Katherine began her career in private musculoskeletal (MSK) practice in Christchurch before moving into a sub-acute rehabilitation hospital. There, she worked across four wards, including orthopaedic, vascular and stroke rehab, and gained valuable experience with amputee patients just days post-op. After relocating to the UK, Katherine continued to develop her MSK expertise in a hospital setting before joining the team in Manchester. She thrives in the patient-centred, real-world rehab environment that we offer and loves to work as part of a team.

Katherine especially enjoys working with patients to achieve their personal goals—whether that’s climbing stairs, regaining confidence outdoors, or simply getting back to day-to-day life.

Outside of work, Katherine has a love for strength sports, having competed in Olympic weightlifting for eight years and even competed in the New Zealand Nationals several times. A self-proclaimed sport enthusiast, she’s also played netball, basketball, water polo, and cricket, and has recently joined a social netball team in Manchester.

Katherine is also a keen traveller and photographer. A recent birthday gift to herself saw her snapping puffins on Skomer Island, and she moved to the UK to explore more of Europe. When not training or planning her next adventure, she’s likely baking something delicious—much to the delight of the clinic team.

Katherine has quickly become a valued part of the Manchester team, bringing a strong clinical focus, a great sense of humour, and the occasional batch of baked goods.
