COVID-19 Update, 22nd April 2020

With the update from our government extending lockdown until Thursday 7th May we have decided for the safety of our Patients and Staff to continue to run a skeleton service during this time.

Patient Support

We are continuing to run reduced clinical services out of our Ringwood and Burton clinics. These appointments are primarily for emergency and essential appointments only, should you have any questions, queries or concerns please contact your clinic as normal and we will try to address your issues as quickly as possible.

During these challenging times our entire team are determined more than ever to make sure all our patients are safe, comfortable and mobile, how we undertake this will be less conventional than normal and to that purpose we would ask for your patience, indeed the clinician you speak with or see may not be your regular clinician at present.

We will be in regular contact with all patients we are currently treating however if you haven’t seen us in a while and would like a chat or contact with your prosthetist, orthotist or physio again let us know and we will arrange this.

Should any patient have a need for replacement consumables during this period including new liners we will attempt where possible to organise this in the quickest possible time and organise this to be shipped to your home address.

Finally for those patients at a loose end or who feel their rehabilitation is taking a backward step we have a new ‘Virtual Physio’ service where Beth Langley can be at the end of a video call to keep you active and motivated  with exercise plans, to arrange an appointment with Beth contact your clinic as normal.

Solicitors/Case Managers and all other referrers

During this unprecedented time we have temporarily halted normal clinic activity, however we are committed to staying in touch and connecting with patients on all levels. To this point all consultations whether for Immediate Needs Assessments, Complimentary Rehabilitation Assessments or Expert Witness Reports will continue via video conferencing or telephone calls where possible.

These virtual examinations will be reported back under normal timescales and where needed we will organise physical appointments with your clients in the future to confirm these recommendations.

All lines of communication will be kept open so please utilise your existing key contacts.

We are also happy during this time to offer CPD tutorials for homeworkers either on an individual or team basis. If you or any of your team have specific knowledge requests on anything prosthetic, orthotic or rehab specific please e-mail me with your request and we will organise an appropriate call/webinar at a mutually convenient time matthewh@dorset-ortho.com

Attending Clinics

For any patient attending for an emergency appointment we will not see you if you are showing any symptoms or are self-isolating, once out of self-isolation if your issue has not been resolved we will re-book you at the soonest possible time.  Please note during any emergency appointments where possible staff will be undertaking safe distance precautions, please do not be offended by this we are just trying to safeguard all involved. 

Deliveries

At this current time we will continue to ship and receive products while we can but please note normal turnaround times may not be able to be kept. We will keep all informed of potential shipping dates.

We look forward to continuing to work closely with you and be the best support we can be and can’t wait for the opportunity to get back on with our routine work once permitted.
