Lydia shows off her new blades!

Last Tuesday saw Lydia Cross taking delivery of her first set of running blades, which just a year ago she was in tears at the thought of having!
Lydia who sent a heartfelt letter to Dorset Orthopaedic MD Bob Watts asking him to “...make my wish come true and make my friends Ben McBean and Matt Kingston their legs.” thought the blades would make her look ugly until she saw all the amazing things Ben and Matt were able to do on their blades. Ben will be using his amazing new blades for his second London Marathon attempt in April this year.
9 year old Lydia, who lost both legs below the knee to meningitis, is already training for a one mile sponsored run; on finding out she was too young to run the London Marathon with Ben, Lydia decided to organise her own sponsored race in aid of Help for Heroes, on which Ben will join her next month.
See Lydia in action on her blades.
