Heather takes to the ice...

...and Bob thinks she could go all the way!
This weekend saw the return of Dancing on Ice, with this series being bigger than ever before with 14 celebrity skaters.
This years’ line up includes Dorset Orthopaedic client Heather Mills, who got off to a flying start with a Judges score of 15.5 placing her 3rd on the judge’s leader board.
Heather, who lost her leg below the knee after being knocked down by a motorbike in 1993, has had two Carbon Fibre legs made, with a custom made skate attached, specifically for the show.
Bob Watts, Dorset Orthopaedic’s MD, explained the difficulties he faced when trying to find a leg that would enable Heather to skate freely “I spent two solid days experimenting with different feet and got absolutely frozen. In the end the best option was giving her a fixed ankle.”
Sunday saw Bob travelling up to the studios to watch Heather in action and be on hand to sort out any problems “She has so much courage to really drive herself. I saw her Sunday night and her progress is phenomenal. If she keeps that up over the next six weeks she has ever chance of winning.”
