BLESMA's Intrepid Adventurer's take to the mountains again... Charley Streather, Welfare Officer for BLESMA (British Limbless Ex-Servicemen's Association) and Dorset Orthopaedic patient, is continuing to live his life without limit and taking a group of serving soldiers, all amputees as a result of injury sustained during active duty, on an action packed expedition to Aspen, Colorado for the Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities (CAMO), in mid-August. The team, who have affectionately names themselves "The BLESMA 3 foot 6 Expedition" representing the total number of 3 feet among the 6 team members, will take part in planned activities such as White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Mountain Climbing and Survival Camping on rough terrain, in very hot conditions! This expedition forms part of an extensive BLESMA rehabilitation program and one of many similar events they undertake, in conjunction with the Wounded Warrior Project in America, to help re-build recently injured servicemen's lives. We are pleased to be assisting the team in their quest, with residual limb care and access to a Prosthetist for support and advice throughout the expedition. See how the team coped in further latest news updates on our website.
