Default phantom pain

I had thought that I had this pretty much under control. I'd get a huge blood curdling attack every now and again, but relatively infrequently - thank God.

But lately, my "old mate" Phantom Pain has been putting in more frequent appearances. still relatively low grade pain, but more frequent. could it be due to the shingles, that I got 4/5/ weeks back? Will it go back to its less aggressive ways? I'm coming up to 10 years since the amputation, so I'd expected to be past the worst.

What do others have to say?
