Default Hello

My name is Barrie Luck. have been an amp (AK right side) since the summer of 1999. coming up for 10 year anniversary. May aim today is to say "Hi" to anyone out there and to ask a question.

within the past month, a large area (the size of a saucer) on my stump has gone numb. everything LOOKS ok, I just lost feeling in the skin. after more than 9 years, this seems an odd thing to happen, but I'm not especially worried about it. should I be?

FWIW, I got shingles a couple of weeks before the numbness came on, but that was across my chest and under my arm. I find it hard to imagine there is a connection, even though shingles does attack/follow the nerves.

All advice and info most welcome. Have a good day!!

Default Numbness

Hi Barry, I am an AK right too, and coming up for my 18th anniversary, I have experienced the numbness at the end also, I always put in down the the fact I use suction, and at times, just sort of sucks at a different place and leaves the end numb. I wouldn't worry too much, but if you are worried just pop along to your GP, but I'm fairly sure its all to do with the nerves and the pressure on these. (we can't get our legs on exactly the same place all the time).

Hope it turns out OK

Default Numbness

Hi Unique1

cool name! and thanks for your info. I use Iceross liner rather than suction, though I did use suction for a couple of years, so I know what you mean. however, whilst still not being overly worried about it, I do still find it odd that something like this should pop up, out of the blue. and the area of numbness is diagonally out to the right, rather than on the end.

so, I'm grateful to you for your advice, but I don't think we have the answer yet. so, is there anyone out there that has another theory? keep 'em coming!!

Barrie
